What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Student Support Staff position at Windham Woods School?
Windham Woods School is seeking a compassionate, flexible, and student-centered Special Education Student Support Staff Member to join our Upper School team. The ideal candidate will have training and experience in Special Education and a strong understanding of how to differentiate instruction in real time to meet students' diverse learning needs. This individual will work closely with classroom teachers to implement and model Special Education best practices, support student engagement and success, and help create an inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities include:
-Providing one-on-one and small-group support to students within the classroom setting
-Differentiating instruction and materials to accommodate a variety of learning profiles
-Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement effective Special Education strategies and accommodations
-Supporting students with organization, task completion, and classroom participation
-Helping students build confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills
-Maintaining positive, supportive relationships with students while upholding classroom expectations
