Candidates for this position will be caring and supportive of both students and staff, willing to work on a team, and engage with families, caregivers and the community. Ideal candidates for this position will promote the safety and well-being of students to optimize the learning environment for all students and staff.
Qualified candidates for this position will be skilled in the following areas: -Assessing student health and developing and implementing care plans.-Communicating clearly and effectively with families, caregivers, and staff to support the needs of students, health related lessons, and guidance around any medical next steps that might be necessary.-Developing, implementing, and managing medical 504 plans, meeting with appropriate stakeholders, and ensuring the plans are followed. Participating in other student plan meetings including EST, 504, IEP and other team meetings as appropriate.-Supporting school safety and crisis management including organizing appropriate training for staff such as Stop the Bleed, First Aid/CPR, and AED. -Maintaining compliance with Vermont Department of Health and HIPPA and FERPA laws as required. -Managing student health records and immunization compliance.-Medication administration.-Other duties assigned by the principal or school nurse leader.
This is a full-time, school year position. Candidates for this position should hold a current license in good standing as a registered nurse (RN) from the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation and be licensed or licensable in the state of Vermont with a school nurse endorsement. For SY 26/27, the salary range for this position is between $57,500 to $96,632 depending upon education and directly related experience.Application deadline for this position is Friday, May 15, 2026.
