What are the responsibilities and job description for the MultiLingual Learning (ML) Teaching Position 0.5 FTE 26-27 school year position at Windham Southeast Supervisory Union?
The Multilingual Learner Program services all schools within WSESU (Windham Southeast Supervisory Union). This part time (0.5 FTE) teaching position will adjust to Multilingual Language Learners’ needs based on enrollment numbers and sites. The grade levels in the caseload will coincide with where services are needed and could change yearly or even within a school year.
The following duties and responsibilities are required as part of the job. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
1. Using a Collaborative Teaching Model: the ML/ELL teacher may work with the Multilingual Learner in small groups and/or in the classroom, and plan with the mainstream teacher to provide language support.
2. Communication with the mainstream teacher is important in the format that works best for them, meetings, emails, shared documents, and shared lesson plans with added accommodations.
3.The ML/ELL teacher will participate in progress monitoring activities, and also hold the certification needed to administer ACCESS, the yearly evaluation mandatory for all Multilingual Learners.
4. Collaborate with ML department co-coordinators throughout the year.
5. Attend/participate in ELL/ML Department meetings and trainings
6. Attend team meeting time, and faculty meetings at school sites where students are serviced.
7. Develop supplementary materials to assist with language acquisition within the mainstream classroom. Familiarize oneself with the content and programs that are part of the Multilingual Learners’ core and intervention instruction. Provide consultation to teachers on ML-friendly practices, supports and accommodations.
8. Travel between WSESU school sites, when needed, to provide ML/ELL services to students.
9. Meet with family members and provide support accessing school and community services.
10. Provide support as needed to ensure that translations for all school related activities are accessible for families.
11. Maintain a case-load and create a plan for language supports that promote access to content instruction throughout the school day. These plans will be developed in collaboration with teachers and program coordinators.
12. Interface and collaborate with community members, volunteers and other stakeholders who impact student outcomes.

ML teachers will work with classroom teachers and ML department co-coordinators to accomplish these responsibilities.
Candidates must hold appropriate teaching license/endorsements, or demonstrate eligibility for provisional or emergency licensure in the state of Vermont.
For SY 26/27, the salary range for this 0.5 FTE position is between $28,750 to $48,316 dependent upon education and directly related teaching experience
