Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Masters Degree from an accredited institution. Eligibility for VT teaching certification with a special education teaching license preferred (If the candidate chosen does not possess special education certification, they must be willing to obtain their special education certification within two years of hire date). Candidate will be expected to work to gain an understanding of the core curriculum implemented in WNESU. Minimum of five years teaching experience with experience working as part of a collaborative teaching team preferred.Language Skills: Demonstrates articulate speech.

Observe, coach and model best teaching practices and effective instructional strategies including, but not limited to, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies related to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Common Core Connectors (CCCs).2. Support teachers, interventionists and support staff to collect and analyze data and monitor student progress to collaborate in planning for specific student learning outcomes to address the needs of individualized students.3. Assist in administering district-approved assessments and in interpreting the results to impact classroom instruction and intervention.4. Develop, collaborate on and facilitate professional learning opportunities that promote achievement and access for all students in areas including curriculum, instruction, assessment and classroom learning environment, with an emphasis on establishing classroom environments that are accessible and provide multiple ways for students to access and engage in instructional content and express their learning.5.
Collaborate and consult with staff regarding differentiation, accommodations and modifications for students with moderate to significant disabilities. This may include co-planning, co-teaching and/or the development of instructional materials for trial use.6. Support teachers in implementing co-teaching models, including support with planning, collecting data, reviewing and adjusting instruction.7. Serve as a member of the IEP team to assist in developing appropriate goals, accommodations and services to support inclusion and access to grade level content and the learning environment.8.
Attend and participate in meetings such as EST, Kid Talk and ESP meetings to assist teams in identifying data collection tools, analyzing data, making recommendations for interventions, universal supports and evaluations, as well as ensuring the fidelity of intervention implementation to assist with making recommendations for next steps for supporting students.9. Researches, assesses and shares emerging trends and best practices for inclusive education.10. Supports the integration of assistive technology and other resources for diverse students, promoting equitable access to education.11. May be assigned a caseload of general and special education students.12.
Maintain accurate and current student records including fee-for-service Medicaid documentation as appropriate.13. Support the transition of students from grade to grade and building to building.14. Assist in planning for the return of students to the district from out-of-district placements.15. Support teachers in the development of independence plans to ensure the least intensive and restrictive supports are provided to students and to aid students in building their independence in achieving their IEP goals.16.
