Certified Competitive Coach

Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.

Pay: 19 to 22 per hour based on experience

Seasonal Position: This role is available for the winter season.

Full Time and Part Time Positions available!

Scheduling Expectations: Peak times include weekends, early mornings, and holidays. Weekend availability is required.

Conditions: Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, and cold temperatures.

Overview of Position: Competitive Programs Coaches work with athletes to develop their skills, fundamentals, and tactics while helping them achieve their competitive goals. Coaches create a safe, positive, and engaging training environment while upholding Windham Mountain Club's Culture of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality on-snow training sessions
• Promote athlete development, safety, and sportsmanship
• Follow all Ski & Ride School policies and procedures
• Select appropriate terrain and manage groups safely
• Assist with training venue setup and breakdown
• Support race and event operations as needed
• Travel to competitions when possible
• Provide exceptional guest service

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 14 years old
• US Ski & Snowboard Level 100 Certification (minimum) with current SafeSport training and background check requirements
• Previous coaching experience in a competitive program, racing, freestyle, or related discipline
• PSIA/AASI certification preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to coach athletes of varying ages and abilities
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in varying winter conditions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely ski or ride for extended periods
• Ability to navigate uneven, snow- and ice-covered terrain
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats
