The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine
The mission of The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is to provide advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine therapies to the Southern New England region.
Wound Care Advanced Practitioner Role Scope
- Ordering lab tests and imaging studies, interpreting results, and maintaining currency in advanced cardiac life support
- Managing hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments
- Cordinating patient care, including nursing, nutrition, medications, dressings, and adjunctive wound therapies
- Reviewing patient charts, writing progress notes, and completing medical record documentation

Advanced Practitioner Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's program
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Wound care certification or experience preferred; training in hyperbaric therapy will be provided
