Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts and breads according to established recipes.
- Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, ensuring presentation meets quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen area.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all products are handled safely and hygienically.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items that align with seasonal offerings.
- Package finished products for display or sale, ensuring they are visually appealing.
- Collaborate with other Bakery staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, communicating needs to management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and cake decorating.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using various kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills with an understanding of how presentation impacts customer satisfaction.
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.
