Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Middle School Science Teacher based in Windermere, FL. The teacher will be primarily responsible for teaching 8th grade students, creating engaging lesson plans, delivering physical science instruction to middle school students, and assessing student progress. The role also involves enhancing the curriculum, fostering an environment of inquiry and innovation, and collaborating with faculty for interdisciplinary projects. Mentoring students and supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth is a key aspect of this position. The successful candidate should be able to facilitate inquiry based learning experiences that encourage investigation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Science Education and 3 years experience teaching at the middle school level
- Competence in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development
- Strong Communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and colleagues
- Passion for fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid Florida teaching certification in Science or a related discipline preferred
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the school community
