Windemuller Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead and manage large-scale electrical projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for planning, budgeting, coordinating, and overseeing electrical construction projects while maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate will be located in the Traverse City, Charlevoix , or Big Rapids area and has a strong electrical background, proven project management experience, and excels at communication, problem-solving, and customer service.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED Certification.
  • Preferred: Master Electrical License or Engineering Degree.
  • Preferred: Annual completion of MIOSHA and Employer recommended safety training. Failure to maintain MIOSHA training requirements can limit our ability to continue to provide employment. Failure to complete Employer recommended safety training can limit your ability to maintain your current status.

EXPERIENCE & LICENSING

  • Journeyman Electrical License. Master Electrical License or Professional Engineers License preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of electrical design and construction technology, equipment and methods.
  • A minimum of five years working in the electrical contracting business.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures.
  • Knowledge of principles and process for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Manage large scale projects.
  • Recommend ideas for business development of new markets and opportunities to Business Development Manager.
  • Administer sales activity including sales calls, improving customer relations and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor customer level of satisfaction and maintain information in customer database.
  • Assists in procedures for following through on leads, contacts and commitments.
  • Meet personal and department sales and gross profit goals, and ensure that sales related transactions are conducted in an ethical and prudent manner.
  • Work within the company’s marketing plan.
  • Coordinate sales and quotes with customers and office personnel.
  • Provide relevant feedback on employees for purposes of performance evaluations
  • Attends authorized trade shows, conventions, seminars and other meetings to enhance professional knowledge and to promote the company image.
  • Attend requested after hour’s sales meetings.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all required paperwork.
  • Help maintain promotional information as directed by Business Development Manager.
  • Distribute promotional and proposal information as requested.
  • Performs all work in accordance with Windemuller Values and Mission Statement.
