The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Company with cash management, forecasting operating and capital  expenditures, debt issuances, Company debt plans, budget development, financial reporting for management, shareholders, and noteholders financial reporting, and other financial projects of the organization. This position reports to the Director of Finance.


Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Develop and maintain Company short and long-term financial models and debt plans to forecast and recommend adequate capital coverage, including debt and equity raises and maintenance of debt service coverage ratios
  • Develop and deliver clear, concise financial analyses and recommendations to management
  • Manage cash investments in accordance with the Company and regulatory investment and governance policies
  • Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly, annual, and multi-year financial reporting for management and shareholders, especially related to cash management and liquidity
  • Prepare financial reports for regulatory bodies as requested and required
  • Provide ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis, including scenario planning and forecasting
  • Support Company in developing, monitoring, and forecasting operating and capital budgets, working cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely information
  • Analyze current and past trends in key financial indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances for management
  • Perform financial tasks and analysis with a high level of accuracy to maintain confidence and integrity in data, providing recommendations to management, Company regulators, and shareholders
  • Operate with minimal supervision on projects that may include significant interface across Company departments and groups
  • Support Company with special projects to improve process efficiency and performance as assigned by management
  • Document processes for regular tasks and cross-train other team members as appropriate


Experience & Qualifications:

  • BA/ BS in Business, majoring in Accounting or Finance
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in financial reporting, financial modeling, cash management, and budget development
  • Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite or other large, automated accounting system preferred
  • Experience or interest working in the energy industry preferred but not required
  • Experience working in a regulated environment preferred but not required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Solid analytical and organizational abilities; resourceful and shows initiative
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and make effective recommendations to management
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate willingness to take on new challenges with a positive attitude
  • Self-starter that reviews current tasks and processes and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Ability to work on projects and tasks autonomously from the planning stage, to execution of analysis, preparation of deliverable, with final presentation of deliverable, recommendation, and conclusions
  • Superior attention to detail; passionate about quality, performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Familiarity with both US GAAP
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
