DescriptionJob Overview:The Host is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly professional manner. The resulting creation of wealth will grow opportunities for all.Duties and Responsibilities:Completes all pre-, running, and post-shift side-work as directed by the manager or supervisorKeeps work area neat, clean, and free of safety hazardsManages the Reservation Book and calls guests to confirm restaurant reservationsAnswers phones and maintains a professional presence at the restaurant entrance at all timesMaintains a warm and inviting phone demeanor at all timesKnows the menu offerings and hours/days of operationsGreets and welcomes guests in a friendly and professional mannerManages the waiting guests and encourages guests to wait in the Lounge areaSeat guests gracefully and efficiently; Genuinely thank the guests as they leave the restaurantAssists other team members in clearing, cleaning, and resetting tablesCommunicate with the Dining Room team to ensure effective meal service and transition times for guests to ensure guest satisfactionCheerfully accommodates the needs and requests of any guestAssists in the service of beverages, and food as requested. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age to serve alcoholic beveragesKeep all menus clean and in good conditionOther duties & responsibilities as assignedJob Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying) High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employmentMust be eighteen (18) years of age or olderMust be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbsMust be able to work independently and as part of a teamMust be able to deal effectively with diverse departments and have flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment.Ability to adequately and successfully perform all aspects of this positionMust possess a high level of maturity, dependability, and punctualityDemonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formatsMust successfully pass a job interview, including a guest service auditionMust complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service and BASSET trainingMust complete ServeSafe Sanitation trainingWilling to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysWilling to travel and participate in training as recommended or requiredMust be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflictsWilling to travel and participate in training as recommended or requiredMust have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this positionBase Pay:Pay range - $15.00 - $20.63 (The base pay will depend factors such as experience level and skillset.)Voluntary full-time benefit offerings include the following - group medical, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as access to a flexible spending account (FSA) option.
