Summary
Production Equipment Operator IIII is responsible for paper cup equipment operator maintenance, training, adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting. This position must be able to operate multiple production equipment used to produce paper cups.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs continuous operation of multiple production equipment to ensure that product meets specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions.
- Experienced in operating multiple lines and equipment including Pre-Expander, Thermoforming, Chrome, etc. production and paper cup machinery.
- Performs minor maintenance repairs and troubleshooting to maintain quality product.
- Trains other team members on equipment operation.
- Generate and review production reports to identify manufacturing lines that are not performing to efficiency standards.
- Makes mechanical adjustments such as changing temperature, air settings, water pressure and temperature, speeds, and hydraulic pressure. Replaces simple worn out or broken mechanical components and records such adjustments.
- Assures that equipment is properly repaired and put back into production with minimal downtime.
- Perform all assigned quality tests to measure the quality of the product being made. This requires frequent fingering and handling of the product to inspect for defects.
- Comply with all safety rules, policies, procedures and practices to include performing lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) of production equipment when required.
- Responsible for informing the leadership team immediately of any failure to meet established quality standards to ensure that corrective action is taken.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times
- Diagnose and determine cause for machine malfunctions along with making operator troubleshoot to assigned machines.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Lead, Team Supervisor or Department Manager.

Qualifications:
Education – High School Diploma or GED
Experience – Two years in a manufacturing environment. Two years as a production equipment operator. Previous machine operator experience in paper cup industry preferred. Experience in cross training team mates preferred.
Skills – Basic computer skills. Basic Math skills. Mechanical aptitude. Ability to function independently. Must be ability to read, write and speak English. Good oral and written communication skills.
Physical Demands (Manufacturing Plant):
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Work an 8 or 12 hour shift while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, use hands to finger, grasp with hands and arms, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and lifting throughout the entire shift.
- Requires the manual movement of cases of finished goods that weight up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions (Manufacturing Plant):
- Exposed to extreme heat. In-doors in a manufacturing environment that is not air conditioned.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- Wear PPE while working, which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
- Work an 8 or 12 hour day shift
- Able to work weekdays, weekends and overtime.
