Our doctors specialize in internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, behavior, ultrasound, and aquatics. We are excited to introduce our brand-new facility featuring seven spacious exam rooms, a large treatment area, and separate dental and surgical suites.
Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technicians to join our ever growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical treatment to pets. This role involves assisting with various tasks in a veterinary clinic, ensuring the well-being of animals, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Availability to work rotating Saturdays is required.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and equipment.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each animal, including vaccination history and treatment plans.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, such as blood draws, cytology's and urinalysis.
- Assist in dental cleanings and familiarized with dental terminology.
- Provide basic grooming services as needed, ensuring the comfort of the animals.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, examination rooms, and surgical areas to promote a hygienic environment.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices and post-treatment care.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy is essential.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to animal dental care.
- Understanding of animal physiology and critical care practices.
- Experience with kennel operations and handling various breeds of animals.
- Proficiency in operating X-Ray equipment is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
