Physical Education / Health Teacher

Description: Physical Education and Health Teacher grades K-2  
Job Summary:
Assist students in attaining physical education goals, including physical fitness, strength and endurance, kinesthetic, teamwork, and knowledge of movement and body functions.

Qualifications:

• CT Certification in Physical Education and Health or DSAP eligible

• Ability to work with the unified arts team
• Discern student performance data
• Ability to participate in the SRBI process
• Effectively plan and deliver engaging/hands-on lessons
• Assess student learning
• Effectively and proactively communicate student progress toward goals
• Ability to demonstrate vocally
• Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and community
• Maintains a cooperative working relationship with the Principal, supervising teacher, students, parents, staff, and the public.
• Participates in professional learning activities that align with school improvement goals. Participates in staff development opportunities provided by the district
• Demonstrates a positive attitude toward work assignments
• Accepts responsibility for the work assigned and accepts feedback.
• Must be able to stand, sit, and be physically active for extended periods. Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
• Additional school-level responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.

Requirements: 

• Must pass federal and local background checks.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must complete all pre-employment requirements before the start date.

Working Conditions:  Per WEA Contract
Salary Ranges:  $44,147.00 - $97,776.00
