Job Description:

We are currently seeking vigilant and certified lifeguards to join our team and ensure the safety and well-being of our patrons at Winchester Country Club. As a lifeguard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe aquatic environment and responding promptly to emergencies. Responsibilities:

• Monitor pool and/or waterfront areas to prevent accidents, enforce safety rules, and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Conduct regular surveillance of the aquatic facility, including scanning designated zones, checking water quality, and monitoring weather conditions.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to promote a safe and orderly environment for all patrons, addressing any violations or unsafe behaviors as necessary.
• Provide friendly and courteous customer service to patrons, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a prompt and professional manner.
• Administer first aid, CPR, and emergency care as needed, following established protocols and procedures to stabilize and assist injured or distressed individuals.
• Perform water rescues and assists swimmers in distress, utilizing proper techniques and equipment to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and rescue activities, documenting details and completing necessary paperwork in accordance with facility policies.
• Participate in regular training sessions, drills, and skill assessments to maintain proficiency in lifesaving techniques, rescue procedures, and emergency response protocols.
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning pool decks, testing water chemistry, and inspecting equipment, to ensure a clean, safe, and operational facility.
• Communicate effectively with fellow lifeguards, supervisors, and other staff members to coordinate activities, share information, and promote teamwork.

Qualifications:

• Current certification in lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid from a recognized training organization (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA, Ellis & Associates).
• Strong swimming skills and physical fitness, with the ability to swim long distances, retrieve objects from the water, and perform rescues in various aquatic environments.
• Excellent observation and communication skills, with the ability to remain vigilant and alert for signs of trouble while maintaining a calm and reassuring demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and make quick, sound decisions under pressure, prioritizing the safety and well-being of patrons at all times.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet the operational needs of the facility.
• Prior experience as a lifeguard or in a related role preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age requirement of 16 years or older.
