Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice

WIN Waste is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment and Diesel Mechanic Apprentice who will, under supervision, assist in the repair and maintenance of our fleet vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Performs preventive maintenance services

• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and heavy equipment

• Assist in the review and completion of repairs identified on Vehicle Condition Reports

• Assists Lead Mechanics as needed

• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA and organizational standards

• Completes paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounts for applied times

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skills
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Climb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feet
  • Occasionally must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs

Experience, Education, Certification:

Required:

• Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification
• Valid Driver's License
