What This Job Is
We’re looking for someone who can keep jobs moving.
You’ll be building routers, scheduling work, and working directly with the shop to make sure parts actually get out the door when they’re supposed to.
If you’ve been around machining and understand how jobs flow through a shop, you’ll do well here. If you haven’t, this probably isn’t the right fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain job routers that actually make sense for how parts are made
- Schedule work across machines, departments, and outside processors
- Work with machinists, managers, and purchasing to keep things moving
- Adjust schedules when things change (because they will)
- Flag problems early instead of reacting when it’s too late
- Manufacturing experience required. Machine shop experience strongly preferred
- You understand how parts move through a shop, not just how they look on paper
- Can read prints and follow job requirements
- Organized enough to keep multiple jobs straight at once
- Comfortable walking out on the floor and getting answers
- Not afraid to ask questions or push when something doesn’t make sense
- You’ve done routing or scheduling before
- You’ve worked on a machine shop floor before
- You’ve worked with JobBOSS or a similar system
- You understand machining processes (setups, run times, outside processing, etc.)
- You don’t wait to be told there’s a problem
- It’s not a sit-back-and-wait role
- It’s not purely administrative
- It’s not for someone who needs perfect information before making a decision
- Small team, no layers, no nonsense
- You’ll see the impact of your work immediately
- Direct access to the people actually running the shop
- Opportunity to improve how things are done
- Pay based on experience
- Health insurance
- PTO
