Description:
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
- Support equipment including:
- Press brakes and shears
- Tube Bending and Forming Equipment
- Welding machines
- Saws, grinders, and polishing equipment
- Air compressors and compressed-air lines
- Material-handling and dock equipment
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime.
- Replace common components such as motors, belts, bearings, switches, sensors, hoses, cylinders, and valves.
- Assist outside service technicians with specialized equipment repairs.
- Maintain basic records of completed maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor commonly used spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Perform basic facility maintenance and repairs, including:
- Replacing light bulbs, fixtures, switches, and outlets
- Repairing minor plumbing leaks, faucets, toilets, and drains
- Maintaining doors, locks, hinges, gates, and dock equipment
- Performing minor wall, ceiling, flooring, and painting repairs
- Inspecting and replacing HVAC filters
- Maintaining breakrooms, restrooms, offices, warehouse, and production areas
- Supporting upkeep of exterior areas, fencing, parking areas, and building grounds
- Conduct routine facility inspections and report conditions requiring additional repair or outside service.
- Coordinate with approved contractors for repairs that require specialized licensing or expertise.
- Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and facility improvement projects.
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance and work areas.
- Follow company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and required PPE.
- Report unsafe equipment or facility conditions to management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work around manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work from ladders or powered lifts after receiving appropriate training.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, temperature changes, and moving equipment.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
