Production Planner (Racing/OEM)

Wilwood Engineering, a leading manufacturer of automotive and motorcycle braking systems, is seeking a dedicated, experienced Production Planner (Racing/OEM) for our Material Department in our facility in Camarillo, CA

Scope: Non-Supervisory Position.

Summary: Coordinates and schedules all production on the shop floor to ensure smooth and continuous work flow through production departments and on-time shipments to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Both

• Ensures an accurate and realistic production schedule for all work centers in the production group.
• Ensures On-time release of Shop orders for production.
• Alerts management of any behind schedule conditions.
• Notifies manager of all material shortages.
• Alerts management of all capacity restraints and production bottlenecks.
• Monitors and alerts manager and sales department of any sales forecast aberrations.
• Coordinates and leads a weekly overtime scheduling meeting.
• Schedules and coordinates R & D prototype production with the Operations Group.
• Requisitions and coordinates scheduled receipts of purchased product.
• Coordinates with Receiving and Receiving Inspection prioritize incoming material.
• Reviews and advises Materials Manager on all MRB items.
• Ensures Material will be staged and ready for production when scheduled.
• Responsible for implementing approved Standard Operating Procedures, Company Policies, safety guidelines, and recommending needed changes for continuous improvement.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervision or Management.
• Responsible for, and given the organizational freedom to report quality deficiencies, recommend solutions and implement approved corrective and preventative action.

OEM

• Schedules “OEM” production orders according to established guidelines.
• Reviews OEM Customer orders and Production schedule on a weekly basis.
• Creates Shop orders for production.
• Coordinates OEM Schedule and oversees prioritization through production.
• Coordinates company truck schedule with Purchasing, Drivers, and other departments.
• Coordinates company truck maintenance and repairs.
• Supervises Planning Clerks, Assembly Planner, WIP Materials Handler, and Truck Drivers.

Racing

• Schedules “Racing” part production, according to established guidelines.
• Oversees Cycle Count processing.
• Creates MRP generated Shop orders for production.
• Coordinates Shortage Expedite List and oversees prioritization through production.
• Coordinates Racing Kit Expedite List.
• Coordinates Rework Shop Orders for Customer orders.
• Coordinates production for Customer specific parts.
• Prioritize Material pulls for Warehouse.

Education and /or Experience:

Two to five years related experience. Minimum high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). APICS courses desired.

Skills and Abilities:

• Good understanding of basic math and simple algebra.
• Good verbal communications skills.
• Familiar with Word, Excel, good basic computer skills.
• Firm understanding of MRP fundamentals, and concepts of capacity planning / shop floor control.

Pay: $19.23 - $33.65 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
