IT Intern
Program Overview
Wilton Re’s Norwalk based internship program is 10-12 weeks, fast-paced, and an exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study or career interest. Interns will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Wilton Re projects. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, unique projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns.
Responsibilities
Data Mart Renovation Project
Documenting Current State: Thoroughly mapping out how transaction data flows from its source systems into the data mart, detailing all intermediate steps and logic.
Analyzing Transformation Logic: Breaking down the specific business rules, functions, and SQL procedures used to cleanse, aggregate, or otherwise modify the transaction data.
Providing Input: Compiling the analysis into clear documentation that serves as the foundation for future discussions, potential optimizations, or migration projects led by senior engineering staff.
Participate in technical sessions with the team to learn and evaluate MS Fabric technologies as the next evolution of our DM technical strategy; based on these sessions contribute via team sessions to a migration roadmap (specific gap analysis tasks TBD likely around ETL logic).
Participate in daily scrum meetings, retrospectives and stakeholder sessions as needed.

Attending a 4-year university, pursuing a bachelor’s level degree in Computer Science, AI / Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related study
Ability to work full time beginning of June to mid-August

Base salary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $20.00 and $30.00 an hour. Please note that specific compensation decisions are based upon a variety of job-related factors as permitted by law, including geographic location, credentials, skills, education, training, and experience.
