The Position
Wilson Elser is seeking a skilled and motivated Employment, Immigration, and Labor Associate Attorney to join our growing litigation team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a nationally recognized firm and provide comprehensive legal counsel to a diverse range of clients across public and private sectors in employment, education, and labor law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a litigation caseload, from inception through resolution.
- Represent employers, private schools, and other institutions in a wide variety of employment, labor, and education law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract and collective bargaining issues.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice and training to clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment, education and labor laws.
- Collaborate with Partners and senior attorneys on complex matters and trial preparation.
- Regularly handle court appearances, mediations and depositions
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and strategic guidance.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the State of New York
- Admitted to practice in the SDNY and EDNY
- 3 years of legal experience with a focus on employment, immigration, and/or education law and litigation
- Experience handling discrimination and wage and hour claim under federal, state, and local laws
- Knowledge of Immigration practice and experience processing PERM, H1b and other visas
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
