Veterinary Technician/Assistant – FT or PT

Wilson Veterinary Hospital is welcoming an additional full- or part-time Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join the team. Experience in a veterinary setting is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, adaptable to change, self-motivated, reliable with good attendance, and will have a positive attitude.
Essential Functions:
· Physical assessment of patients
· Pharmacy operations
· Venipuncture and catheter placement
· Laboratory procedures
· Radiology
· Surgical preparation and assisting
· Dentistry
· Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
· Compassionate care for all patients
Additional Requirements:
· Exceptional communication and people skills
· Compassion and empathy
· Ability to multi-task
· Active understanding of veterinary terminology and protocols, or ability to learn quickly
Experience:
· Veterinary Technician or Assistant – 1 year preferred
· Surgical experience highly desirable
Schedule:
· Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm
· Full-time and part-time shifts will be discussed during the recruitment process.
· Positions require a minimum of two Saturday shifts a month.
· Preference will be given to candidates with scheduling flexibility.
