As part of the Wilson Vet Co. team, you will contribute to our mission of advancing poultry health and supporting our clients with the best possible care.COOP CONTRIBUTIONSThe Staff Veterinarian plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive veterinary care and support for poultry health. This position involves conducting health assessments, performing diagnostics, and developing tailored treatment plans and preventative health programs. The Veterinarian will collaborate closely with clients, farm staff, and the Wilson Vet Co. team to ensure optimal poultry health, welfare, and productivity. In addition to hands-on care, this role includes contributing to data collection, reporting, and the development of materials to enhance client knowledge and support best practices. Depending on individual expertise, the Staff Veterinarian may also engage in areas such as marketing, sales, account management, and business development to further advance Wilson Vet Co.’s mission and impact.POSITION LOCATIONOperate from a home office at an agreed upon geographic area. Required home base locations: Western US (Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington)POSITION TIMELINEThe expected start date for this position would be after 6/1/2026, although there might be opportunities for further discussion on this timeline dependent on an individual applicant’s availability, training level, and career background.ROOST RESPONSIBILITIESPerform field veterinary work, including diagnostics, treatment planning, and farm visitsConduct regular flock health inspections and audits to assess overall health, management practices, and compliance with biosecurity protocolsProvide expert consultation on disease prevention, vaccination schedules, and health management tailored to the specific needs of each clientOffer guidance and support for outbreak investigations, including onsite evaluations, sampling, and report generationCollect diagnostic samples and complete laboratory submissionsAnalyze and report data to monitor health trends and outcomesStay informed on the latest advancements in poultry health, treatments, and regulations, and apply this knowledge to enhance service qualityDevelop educational materials and provide training on poultry health and welfareEnsure compliance with all regulatory and safety standardsRepresent Wilson Vet Co. at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote the organization and build professional networksPerform other duties, as assignedRequirements:EGG-CELLENT ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONSDoctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited US institutionSuccessful completion of the national veterinary board exam and eligibility for licensure in at least one US stateProficiency with general computer systems and the ability to quickly learn databases and software used by Wilson Vet Co. Valid driver’s licenseAbility to travel, including up to 10 overnight stays per month and local, non-overnight travel to farm locations within a reasonable driving distanceEXTRA FLUFF IN YOUR FEATHERSDemonstrated expertise in diagnosing and managing common poultry diseases, including viral, bacterial, and parasitic conditionsExperience working with commercial poultry operations, including broilers, breeders, and layerFamiliarity with poultry production systemsKnowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the poultry industryOther business experience related to sales, marketing, operations are always welcome to our entrepreneurial team structureAt Wilson Vet Co., we seek individuals who are passionate about caring for our flocks and their owners, and who can contribute to a unified flock. Additionally, you will be required to handle and restrain chickens, perform examinations in various weather conditions, and navigate farm environments which may include uneven terrain.
