The Residential House Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the group home while ensuring high-quality care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role combines administrative duties with direct support oversight, ensuring compliance with policies, care plans, and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate will provide strong leadership to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), assist with scheduling and staffing needs, and step in to provide direct care when necessary. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating appointments and activities, communicating with families and service providers, and ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment for residents.
This position requires excellent organizational and multitasking skills, the ability to respond effectively in emergencies, and a commitment to modeling professionalism, compassion, and teamwork. The Office / Residential Lead plays a key role in promoting resident independence, dignity, and overall well-being while supporting staff development and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
Core Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)
1. Resident Care & Daily Operations
- Actively support and enhance residents’ morale, health, and overall well-being through compassionate care and engagement.
- Collaborate with DSPs by assisting with daily care routines and activities, as needed, to enhance client independence and overall care outcomes.
- Monitor resident behavior and engagement, providing individualized one-on-one support as needed.
- Oversee resident chart compliance, ensuring accurate and timely documentation is consistently maintained in accordance with regulations.
- Assist DSPs with administering medications if required (AM, Noon, PM)
- Assist residents with money management, allowances, and updates of balances.
2. Program Planning & Coordination
- Develop, implement, and maintain activity calendars, including recreational, educational, and life-skills programs
- Assist with Major Program (MP) activities, community outings, and van logs/binders
- Adapt activities based on resident abilities, ISPs, and behavioral supports
- Organize special events, holiday programs, and community engagement opportunities
- Ensure activities foster independence, social interaction, and community integration
3. Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise DSPs and activity staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and delegation of duties
- Oversee and delegate responsibilities related to supplies, resident care, and home operations
- Train and orient new staff, including DSP life implementation
- Support staff morale and ensure staff compliance with charts and documentation
- Lead team meetings related to programming and resident care
4. Administrative & Office Duties
- Maintain resident and staff charts, logs, and checklists (including fire drill and environmental checklists)
- Submit reports to Program Director and participate in case manager visits/communications
- Track receipts, daily money transactions, and business card purchases
- Ensure compliance with agency, DBHDS, and regulatory standards
- Assist Director with scheduling, audits, and program documentation
5. Community Safety & Risk Management
- Provide one-on-one supervision during resident activities and outings, offering additional support and coverage as needed.
- Monitor safety during community events, outings, and transport
- Respond to emergencies, call-outs, and medical appointments as needed
- Follow behavior support plans , ISP’s and medication protocols
6. Budget & Supplies Management
- Maintain activity and home supplies, including ordering and inventory tracking
- Track expenses related to resident activities and household operations
- Utilize community donations and resources effectively
7. Future/Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee quarterly resident reports, DMAS compliance, and other future regulatory documentation
- Continue to monitor staff compliance and charting accuracy at 90-day intervals
Working Conditions
- Full-time position; 2 days off weekly (weekends may not be consecutive)
- Combination of office, administrative, and direct residential care duties as needed
- May require evening, weekend, or on-call coverage
- Requires lifting, assisting residents, and responding to behavioral or medical emergencies

Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Human Services, Social Work, or related field)
- Minimum 1–2 years experience in residential services, DSP supervision, or behavioral health preferred
- Knowledge of DBHDS regulations and compliance requirements preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Pay: $37,400.00 - $45,760.00 per year
