POSITION: Assistant Principal 

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

• North Carolina Principal’s License (current or pending)
• Three or more years of successful teaching experience
• Strong instructional background and leadership skills
• Skills in building interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents
• Knowledge of curriculum, instructional strategies, and instructional data analysis.
• Skills necessary to assist in the development and implementation of all school programs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the principal in developing, implementing, and evaluating the instructional program
• Support school leadership in analyzing student achievement data to improve classroom instruction
• Assist with student discipline and help ensure a safe and orderly school
• Meet with students, parents, and staff for the purpose of interpreting and administering school and system policies and programs
• Participate with the principal in the management of the school and school activities
• Supervise evening and after school activities, as needed
• Assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal
• Perform other duties as assigned
