Duties
- Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar machinery to prepare sites and move materials efficiently.
- Assist in the installation of docks, pilings, and marine structures with precision using power tools and hand tools.
- Conduct manual handling of materials such as concrete, timber, steel, and other construction supplies while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform paving tasks and highway maintenance activities to ensure smooth access routes for dock areas.
- Manage traffic control for work zones to ensure safety for workers and the public during construction activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by adhering to safety standards and utilizing welding skills when necessary for structural repairs or assembly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction work with a focus on road construction or civil infrastructure projects.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and Caterpillar equipment confidently and safely.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity with power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to commercial vehicle operation is essential.
- Strong outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining proper manual handling techniques.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality standards.
- Valid Drivers license
