Hiring Range: $76,000 - $98, 000
A. Supervision: 75 %
- Provides direct supervision, in conjunction with the Nursing Director, to the staff members of the Personal Health Division.
2.Provides direct supervision to persons working in contract capacities in the Personal Health Division from outside agencies, coordinating with supervisory personnel from that agency.
3.Provides direct supervision in the day-to-day clinics and staff. Position makes staff adjustments as needed to meet clinical and outreach needs including extended clinic hours within the Personal Health Division.
- Position serves as the primary contact person for staff in who will be absent from work.
5. Position is responsible for making weekly clinic schedules and informing Personal Health
staff of these assignments as well as informing other disciplines with the health department.
- Approves/disapproves sick and/or annual leave for staff.
- Serves as Supervisor for Personal Health Division in absence of Director of Nursing. Assists in providing supervision for night clinics and additional after-hours clinics, as needed.

1.Nursing Supervisor II assists the Director of Nursing and Health Director in planning work operations for the agency programs or major division of the program and plans for the utilization of resources over a long-range period with higher level management’s input and review. This position establishes program goals in the area of assignment and has authority to make changes in short-range plans and some long-range plans with input from upper management.
2. Nursing Supervisor II will review agency data and compare to state data and data from similar populations as needed to describe and address needs of populations served in their program areas and will make recommendations regarding project changes to enhance the health of target populations.
3. Nursing Supervisor II is expected to collect and analyze data related to staff output and program outcomes to assist agency management in making program decisions. This position works in conjunction with the Nursing Director in the areas of program management, administration, and development to include clinic flow changes and implementation of new programs.
4. Nursing Supervisor II is authorized to make changes and set priorities in the work plans, procedures, services, and personnel assignments to meet program and client needs, using input from lower supervisors/coordinators if applicable.
C. Clinical Duties: 10%
1.Nursing Supervisor II counsels staff as needed, issue initial disciplinary actions and works with higher level management on the more serious cases.
2. Participates in actual day-to-day functioning of clinical area and/or relieving in regularly
scheduled clinics, as needed.
3.Serve as resource person to all staff in all program areas.
Employee is required to maintain a current license to practice as Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and maintain required CEU’s as required for re-licensure. Position is also required to complete a certain number of Incident Command Courses (ICS) and National Incident Management Course (NIMS) within one year of employment. These required courses are ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800.
