Title: AR/Billing Manager

Location: Canby, OR

 

Wilson Construction Company has an immediate opening at our headquarters in Canby, OR for a AR/Billing Manager.  Wilson has been in business since 1952, as a power utility contractor, working in multiple states. The AR/Billing Manager will work closely with various departments throughout the organization, under the direction of the Assistant Controller. 

 

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Oversee the workload of the AR/Billing department to ensure monthly deadlines are met;
  • Supervise the AR/Billing staff, which includes hiring, training, and re-training of skilled staff;
  • Provide quarterly check-ins with staff to ensure goals and workload expectations are being met;
  • Reconcile weekly cash flow;
  • Reconcile monthly sales journal;
  • Communicate with customers and/or Project Managers to help resolve payment issues;
  • Provide reporting of Accounts Receivable to Assistant Controller and Controller;
  • Monitor job status, ensuring all billings are prepared and submitted to the customer timely.
  • Understanding of construction contracts;
  • Understanding of lien releases;
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, annual state sales tax returns;
  • Maintain electronic billing filing system;


Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience;
  • 5 years experience in an accounting position;
  • 2 - 3 years of Management Experience preferred;
  • High Proficiency in Word / Excel;
  • Data entry skills;
  • 10 key by touch;
  • Typing 50 wpm;
  • Alpha and numeric filing skills;
  • Meeting deadlines;
  • Work well under pressure;
  • Must have high-level reconciliation skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Sharp attention to detail;
  • Dependability / Reliability;
  • Extremely self-motived, proactive and capable of prioritizing workload;
  • Skilled at handling multiple tasks and demonstrating adaptability; and
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with various departments and customers with a sense of competency and helpfulness.
