Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for coordinating the flow of materials and production to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of finished goods. This role manages both purchasing of replenishment raw materials and production planning, aligning supply and demand across the organization. The ideal candidate combines analytical capability, operational awareness, and cross-functional communication skills to optimize supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Planning & Procurement
Plan and purchase raw materials based on production forecasts and inventory policies.
Issue and manage purchase orders to approved suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules.
Maintain accurate material data, safety stock levels, and reorder points.
Work closely with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, or quality issues.
2. Production Planning
Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet demand and service goals.
Convert demand forecasts and sales orders into detailed production plans.
Balance production capacity with material availability and inventory targets.
Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align daily/weekly production priorities.
Adjust plans proactively in response to supply chain disruptions or demand changes.
3. Demand and Inventory Management
Analyze demand trends and forecast accuracy to improve planning reliability.
Manage inventory levels to prevent overstock or stockouts.
Optimize lot sizes, reorder points, and production sequencing.
Support S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) activities with data-driven insights.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure alignment.
Communicate material and production status to internal stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement projects in planning, procurement, and scheduling processes.
Qualifications
Education:
Associates Degree or enrolled in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
2 years of experience in production planning, materials management, or procurement.
Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
Experience in manufacturing or assembly environments preferred.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Excel or data analysis tools.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Detail-oriented and proactive mindset.
