Description

Receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products within the Warehouse.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist with shipping and receiving, loading & unloading trucks, and scheduling freight carriers to pick up and deliver freight.
  • Check in merchandise matching purchase orders to part numbers (descriptions) as well as customer returned parts and non-inventoried items.
  • Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped - assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas - sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fill sales orders, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated assembly area.
  • Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for associates and customer traffic.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory: weigh and count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments, prepare parcels for shipment, organize warehouse and work area for orderliness/cleanliness at all times.
  • Assemble fittings, tubing, hoses and other products by following drawings and instructions.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, drawings, and parts lists.
  • Inspect, adjust, repair, and test products as necessary to meet customer requirements.
  • Gather and position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements - verify specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and/or notifying Branch Manager to obtain additional resources.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs when required.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Ability stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Experience and ability using computer programs preferred

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1 year experience required

Physical Requirements

  • May be required to stand for long periods of time.
  • May involve some repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold. and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Salary: up to $19/hr
