Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for milling, turning, and multi-axis machining operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to ensure efficient production and high-quality finished parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software.
- Set up and troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and CAD models.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
- Perform first article inspections and verify dimensional accuracy.
- Reduce cycle times while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Maintain program documentation, setup sheets, and process records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train operators and machinists on new programs and processes as needed.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Report unsafe acts, carelessness and theft to the Supervisor immediately
- Maintain work area in a clean, organized and orderly fashion.
Requirements
- Must work onsite
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam, Esprit, or similar.
- Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, tooling, and machining principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and equipment.
- Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen before employment, any time an employee is involved in an injury/accident and at any other time during employment.
- Ability to lift and carry loads of 30 lbs. regularly and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
- Work while standing 50-75% of the time
- Ability to manipulate objects and use various types of equipment
- Must be able to see and hear to effectively perform job functions
- Must be detail-oriented, dependable, and demonstrate the ability to follow directions
