Security Officer

Job Summary 

The PSO is responsible for guarding and monitoring company grounds to prevent theft, violence, or other loss of company property.

Essential Functions

• Monitors and operates complex Closed Circuit Television equipment.
• Tours facility and grounds, inside and outside. 
• Responds to security breaches and prepares and files reports describing accidents, or intruders.
• Maintains security logs.

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Valid security guard license or certificate, dependent on state requirements.
• Valid NYS driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read, write and speak the English Language.        
• Prepare complex written reports and documents. 
• Comprehend and interpret complex verbal and written documents.  
• Prepare legible and clear reports suitable for court purposes.

• The work environment is indoors and outdoors, frequently exposed to all types of weather conditions. 
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
