What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at Wilmington Machinery LLC.?
This position would handle electrical design for all Wilmington Machinery builds. Working hand-in-hand with controls and mechanical engineering, you’ll create a fully integrated and functional machine. The ability to select electrical components, design electrical panels, create schematics, BOMs and use AutoCAD software to document thoroughly are paramount. Troubleshooting, testing and floor support of the electrical systems would be required.
Skills Required:
- Understanding of the integration of electrical systems, controls and valving
- Ability to specify power requirements for a given machine concept
- Ability to specify electrical components (I/O, power supplies, etc.) according to the latest electrical code (NFPA) and the needs of a machine
- Ability to create electrical schematics, BOMs and panel layouts
- Knowledge of multimeters and hand tools
- Troubleshooting, testing and production floor support
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities:
- Specify electrical components for all machine builds
- Create and publish bill of materials, panel layouts and electrical schematics
- Keep up with redlines and revisions to aforementioned documents and publish to engineering
- Work with controls and mechanical engineering to deliver a fully integrated electrical package
- Ensure the company is operating in accordance with all relevant machine safety standards
- Communicate promptly and efficiently with colleagues
- Provide production support for all electrical systems
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum 2-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial electrical design
- Experience in industrial controls integration
