What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inclusion Educational Assistant position at Wilmington High School?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assist the classroom teacher(s) in the delivery of academic, social, and emotional/behavioral interventions within the general education classroom or any other setting within the school where instruction may be occurring.
● Provide students a variety of supports (academic, social, and emotional/behavioral) with learning activities developed by the classroom teacher to meet the varied and individual needs of each student.
● Assist school staff by implementing student accommodations according to individual IEPs, 504 Plans, Behavior Intervention Plans, and/or the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan. Interventions may include giving frequent breaks, making modifications for students and working with diverse learning styles.
● Assist school staff by collecting data on student's goals and objectives.
● Work with students individually or in groups to support learning.
● Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher, special education staff, support staff, and grade level colleagues.
● Participate in meetings, Safety Care training, and professional development opportunities as assigned by the building or district administrator.
● Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of their work with all students and staff.
● Implement PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) strategies
● Maintain professional working relationships with all staff
● Attend staff meetings as designated by Educational Assistant Contract
● Other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
Salary : $20 - $25
