Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive testing of construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and other building components to verify adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
- Perform laboratory testing on soils and concrete sampled from projects.
- Collect, record, and analyze data related to material performance, ensuring accuracy and consistency for reporting purposes.
- Assist in quality control processes by identifying material deficiencies or deviations from standards.
- Review contracts and specifications related to materials to ensure compliance throughout the project.
- Document test results and site observations for project records.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve material-related issues promptly.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols.
Skills
- Laboratory or field construction materials testing experience is a plus.
- Understanding of construction processes with respect to earthwork, concrete, and masonry is a plus.
- Attention to detail for conducting quality inspections and ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Ability to collect data through measurements, sampling, and testing procedures.
- Knowledge of contracts related to construction materials and quality standards.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures within a construction environment.
