What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Coach Baseball position at Wilmington College?
This position is responsible for assisting with the development, leadership and administration of all aspects of a successful NCAA Division III baseball program.
Reports to: Head Baseball Coach
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in the recruitment of quality student-athletes while maintaining roster expectations
Maintains awareness of and adheres to College, NCAA and OAC rules and regulations
Assists in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes
Assists in practice to optimize team and individual skill development
Assists in scheduling home and away contests
Assists in coordinating travel and assists supervising team members during off-campus travel
Assists in fundraising initiatives that support the program’s budget
Ability to be able to throw batting practice and swing a fungo
Performs secondary duties as assigned by the Chief of Athletics
Performance Standards:

Qualifications:
Related bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of college or related coaching experience.
Evidence of excellent coaching and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes.
Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with a diverse population
