What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Ice Skating Instructor position at WILMETTE PARK DISTRICT?
Job Summary: The Junior Ice Skating Instructor will be responsible for assisting the Lead Instructor with teaching recreational beginner skating classes, with safety and technique as the primary focus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Help teach participants in the program from age 3-18 years old
- Follow class curriculum as provided by class instructor/supervisor
- Learn information about Ice Skating programs
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled
- Work collaboratively with other staff as needed
- Be a positive role model for students
- Help with motivational support and guidance to participants
- Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
- Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings
- Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs

Education and/or Experience:
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Must have experience in ice skating at an advanced level
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position including standing, bending, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and lifting
- Exposure to cleaning and disinfecting supplies
- Exposure to noise and cold temperature
