The Wilmette Park District offers Summer Short-term staff the following benefits: Individual Seasonal Beach and Pool Pass, One (1) parking decal for Gillson Beach (over 16 years of age only), Individual Center Fitness Club Membership for June – August for the year of employment.
Job Summary: The Gillson Beach Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of facility maintenance duties to effectively open Gillson Park for the summer and maintain it during the active season.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Sand sift beach to maintain an even waterfront
-
Work in tandem with the excavator contractor to clear the vessel racks of sand and debris
-
Build and maintain simple form racks for small vessels
-
Redistribute vessels into summer storage spaces
-
Remove winter fencing and make adjustments to summer fence lines
-
Transport winterized equipment to seasonal spaces

Clean and configure storage locations for alternate usage

Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs

Actively contribute to the Park District’s sustainability goals
Safety Responsibilities:
-
Actively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidents
-
Obey all Park District and departmental safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Wilmette Park District safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted at the facility and property
-
Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions to the immediate supervisor
-
Attend and participate in required safety training
-
Review all accident and incident reports that occur under the area of responsibility and send them to the Human Resources/Risk Management division

Responsible for administering minor first aid if needed

Education and/or Experience:

Prior maintenance or operations experience is a plus

Must be at least 21 years of age
