We handle workers' compensation and general liability matters for insurance carriers, employers' businesses, and government entities. Started in 2002, the WJCB team is over 200 people strong and growing. . We are currently expanding and looking for a Litigation Attorney in our Columbia, SC office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Consulting with clients
- Attending hearings
- Taking Depositions
- Preparing and responding to motions
- Preparing and responding to discovery
- Attending mediations and trials
- Adhering to the Firm's Code of Ethics, company policies, and operating principles
Ideal Qualifications:
- SC License in good standing and SC Rule 403 compliance.
- Prefer1 year of civil litigation experience.
- Detail-oriented, diligent, and results-driven team player.
- Experience in drafting briefs and other legal documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong research, organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent client services skills.
- Experience taking depositions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of state and federal court practices.
