Willow Valley is hiring a Chaplain to join The Chaplain Ministry at Willow Valley Communities to enhance and support the spiritual well-being of Residents and their families, as well as fellow Team Members regardless of religious affiliation. The Chaplain will Conduct and coordinate weekly religious services for the community. Services include Sunday Vespers Services, Bible Study, Prayer Services, Memorial and Holiday Services. Provides visitation and/or counseling services to Residents in the apartment, hospital and supportive living.

Responsibilities:
- Advocate the communities’ products, services and facilities; and, communicate positively to the community and Residents about Willow Valley Communities’ mission, values and goals.
- Meet with new Residents to communicate available services, support and connection to local worship services.
- Counsels and mediates using problem solving skills when there are Resident to Resident or family conflicts, offering resources as necessary.
- Prepares and submits weekly newsletter information to describe and promote planned religious services.
- Develops and meets with appropriate Resident committees to plan and facilitate religious services.
- Provides visitation and/or counseling services to Independent Living Residents in the apartment, office, hospital, and supportive living (when requested or needed).
- Provide a monthly report on program attendance, visitation and other services performed by the Chaplain.
- Operates within Chaplain’s expense budget.
- Works closely with the Resident Nursing department and Social Services to assist with support services for Resident and/or their spouses through difficult, life changing transitions (i.e. chronic illness, decline in mobility or activities of daily living, temporary or long term move to supportive living, hospitalization, death of spouse).
- Is knowledgeable of all Resident Agreements, Resident Handbook and contractual requirements in order to support adherence to the community living policies.
- Develops programs and procedures for enhancing the spiritual well-being of the community and makes recommendations.
- Works with the Resident Life Coordinators to schedule the use of activity rooms and A/V equipment for planned programs.
- Holds regularly scheduled office hours for convenient Resident access.
- Periodically participates in or attends activities and program for Residents in order to develop a relational ministry with Residents.
- Meet regularly with other Willow Valley Communities Chaplains to develop enhancements to the Willow Valley religious programs and services.
- Connects with chaplains from other communities, as able, to share ideas and promote professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university And/OR
- Graduate of a Bible College or Seminary and ordained or in the process of being ordained in Christian Ministry.
- A minimum of two to three years related pastoral experience required.
