Prepare and cook meals for residents according to planned menus, dietary guidelines, and physician-ordered special diets
Ensure meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining quality, taste, and presentation
Follow proper food handling, storage, and preparation procedures
Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and applicable state and federal regulations
Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitized
Assist with meal preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanup as needed
Work collaboratively with dietary team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Help provide courteous, timely, and resident-centered meal service
Must be at least 18 years of age
Previous cooking experience preferred; healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional kitchen experience is a plus
Valid ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification preferred, or ability to obtain as required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and special dietary requirements preferred
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service
