The Clinical Educator/Infection Control Nurse provides oversight and assistance in maintaining regulatory standards, by engaging in performance improvement activities and education of all new and existing clinical staff at Willow Springs Center inpatient and outpatient facilities. This Clinical Educator/Infection Control Nurse will work with the interdisciplinary team to assure efficient communication within the healthcare teams related to educational needs of clinical staff. Clinical staff includes Nursing, Milieu, and Clinical Services. This position is responsible for utilizing and maintaining the educational and training initiatives and tools used at this facility including software, training classes, and comprehensive skills assessments.
This position monitors completion of TB Initial and Symptom Review, monitors and reports sanitizing and handwashing, and monitors vaccines. This position initiates and verifies TB questionnaires, and provides flu shots. Verifies employee vaccination upon hire. The Clinical Educator/Infection Control Nurse also collaborates with the Education Department and develops education. This position addresses any situations of HAI, Outbreak, BBP, etc., and is responsible for all record keeping to provides data to the Director of Nursing for PI reporting.

The Clinical Educator/Infection Control Nurse has further responsibility to educate patients and staff members on safe practices that will enhance health at Willow Springs Center and mitigate and prevent the spread of infectious diseases. This position will ensure the facility complies with regulatory expectations for infection prevention and control and collaborate effectively with department heads to ensure these expectations are met.
