Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA guidelines and medical documentation protocols.
- Assist with IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, and sterile procedures utilizing aseptic techniques.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory impairments in memory or long-term care settings.
- Manage acute pain and participate in pain management plans for patients experiencing complex conditions such as trauma or post-operative recovery.
- Conduct triage assessments to determine urgency levels in urgent care or emergency room scenarios, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by implementing tailored care plans and engaging in health coaching.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly within EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals during procedures such as cardiac catheterization or spinal taps in hospital or outpatient settings.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements during all patient care activities.
Qualifications
- Valid LPN or RN license in good standing; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred.
- Critical care experience including ICU, Emergency Room, Level I/II Trauma Center experience highly desirable.
- Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal ventilator management, or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to ensure seamless patient record management.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration and tube feeding procedures.
- Strong assessment skills coupled with the ability to perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, and sterile techniques confidently.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively triage patients and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams across inpatient and outpatient settings.
