Overview- Resident Care Aide
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including home health, assisted living, and group homes. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, along with the ability to work effectively with individuals who may have developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges.
Responsibilities -PCA
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
- Administer medication as per care plans and assist with vital signs when necessary.
- Support clients in maintaining their personal hygiene and cleanliness within their living environment.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with heavy lifting and the use of mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts when required.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress while respecting confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to provide comprehensive support.
Qualifications PCA
- Experience in caregiving roles such as home health aide, nursing assistant, or direct support professional is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to perform cleaning duties related to patient care environments.
