Job Summary
The Clinician at Willow Ridge Recovery Center is responsible for providing professional, direct, person-centered care to clients with primary substance use disorders with or without comorbid mental health diagnoses. They ensure the highest-level quality of care is provided to all clients according to their individual needs using group, individual, and family therapy, as well as working with the multidisciplinary treatment team made up of case managers, medical professionals, guest speakers, and administrative staff.
The core function of the clinical position is to work with clients and their families to help them understand the underlying causes of their substance abuse and develop healthy coping skills and relapse prevention techniques. Clinicians at Willow Ridge Recovery Center utilize a variety of substance abuse therapeutic techniques including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Short-Term, Solution Focused Therapy, 12-Step group facilitation, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in all sessions – individual, family, and group.
Duties
- Conduct Bio/Psych/Social assessments, diagnose SUD and MH diagnoses, and formulate treatment plans
- Provide individual and family therapy sessions with clients at the following frequency: weekly for the first month at all levels of care
- Develop and utilize group curriculums to facilitate both educational and psychodynamic group sessions covering a variety of recovery topics including, but not limited to: relapse prevention, co-occurring concerns, health and wellness, fundamentals of addiction, basic life skills
- Ability to manage a caseload
- Complete and assist clients in aftercare and discharge planning
- Provide direct clinical services, including individual, group, family and/or couples therapy to clients and their families at all levels of care
- Conducting monitored urine drug screening and breathalyzers
- Provide case management services as needed, including referrals to outside resources when necessary
- Ensure cohesion of all services documented within the clinical chart (including but not limited to services provided by case management, medical providers and the laboratory) and assists with compliance of various standards.
- Maintain accurate, thoroughly documented client records with a quality of documentation that meets all applicable standards
- Ability to utilize electronic health record system to input all clinical documentation
- Attend and participate in treatment team meetings on a weekly basis to ensure quality of care for clients
- Consult with Clinical Director for an update on client needs, special incidents, level of care transfers, etc.
- Attend staff development and general staff meetings
- Attend staff and clinical trainings
- Communicate with medical team to ensure quality clinical services are provided to the client on a timely and as needed basis
- Participate in and attend supervision/consultation with clinical management team
- Assist with missed treatment communication
- Ensure structure in individual sessions including providing First Step Prep in first session
- Maintain to make family contact within the first week of client entering treatment to invite to multi- family group, is aware of frequency of family involvement throughout treatment
- Collaborates with members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team to ensure effective delivery of a full spectrum of clinical services
- Utilize email system for interdisciplinary discussion; respond in a timely manner and update group discussions as appropriate
- Complete assigned educational tasks and competency assessments through Relias (and additional if assigned elsewhere)
- Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences
- Additional duties assigned by the Clinical Director
- Abide by Willow Ridge’s code of ethics and moral values
- Always follow Infection Control Guidelines
- Comply with local, state, and federal confidentiality laws and regulations
- Collaborate with professionals both within and outside the agency, as appropriate
- Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences
Skills
- Masters in Social Work, Psychology, or related field AND:
- Current license (NJ) to practice independently as LCSW, LMFT or LPC, OR
- Current license (NJ) to practice as LSW, MFTI, LAC working toward above licenses
- Must be able to communicate with clients and staff members through various forms of communication, including email and phone
- Computer literacy is required. Must be able to use Word, Excel, etc. Experience with KIPU EMR is a plus
- If in recovery, must have at least two (2) years sober
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
