What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Assistant Teacher: Outdoor Nature Preschool position at Willow Oak Preschool?
Hello!
I am searching for a part time assistant teacher role for a nature based preschool in Durham, NC. The role is Monday through Friday from 8:30am-12:30pm beginning this September and ending in May. The class size is 12, with ages ranging from 3-5 years old. There are also opportunities available during the summer months as well to help with camps.
The ideal candidate loves being outdoors, enjoys spending time with preschoolers and has a positive and caring personality. Daily activities involve forest walks, reading & telling stories, and general supervision of play. Our program involves lots of free play, nature based activities and art projects, and is almost entirely outdoors. As an assistant, you are not responsible for any lesson planning or curriculum development, your main role is just to be an extra hand to the lead teacher and class.
