What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate- Fulfillment Center position at Willow Creek Press, Inc.?
We are seeking a Warehouse Associate to serve as the lead for our warehouse operations. In this role, you will handle day-to-day warehouse activities to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, order fulfillment, and shipment of products in support of Willow Creek Press’s production schedule and customer commitments.
Responsibilities
- Daily startup
- Inbound receiving & inspection
- Unload deliveries; verify packing lists, PO numbers, and quantities.
- Inspect received goods for damage, report discrepancies to Purchasing, and document returns or claims.
- Perform put-away, ensuring correct bin locations, proper stacking, and FIFO rotation where required.
- Maintain organized, labeled storage areas and optimize space utilization.
- Order picking, packing & fulfillment
- Oversee picking operations for accuracy and efficiency; spot-check picks and correct errors.
- Ensure packing meets product protection and brand presentation standards; supervise labeling and documentation for shipments.
- Shipping & carrier coordination
- Schedule and coordinate carrier pickups; verify weights/dimensions and complete shipping paperwork.
- Stage outbound loads, confirm load manifests, and ensure on-time carrier handoff.
- Inventory control & cycle counts
- Maintain inventory accuracy through daily spot checks, scheduled cycle counts, and reconciliation of variances.
- Investigate discrepancies, propose corrective actions, and update inventory records.
- Staff management & development
- Supervise, train, schedule, and coach seasonal and full-time warehouse staff; conduct onboarding and safety training.
- Report incidents and near-misses, complete incident documentation, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free warehouse environment and manage waste/disposal procedures.
- Continuous improvement & process documentation
- Identify operational inefficiencies and lead small improvement projects
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and job aids.
- Communication & coordination
- Communicate daily status, delays, and inventory issues to COO, Production, Purchasing, and Customer Service..
- Ensure work areas are cleaned, outstanding items documented, and next-day priorities communicated to staff
- Lock up inventory areas and secure the facility per company procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
