The Christian Automotive Repairmen Serving (CARS) ministry provides reliable transportation to those in need through refurbished, donated vehicles with the help of volunteer mechanics.
As the full time CARS Mechanic you will provide mechanical expertise in evaluating donated and guest vehicles to determine what repairs are needed. You will be able to enhance shop efficiency through the towing of vehicles as needed and the maintenance of a clean, organized, and safe work environment. In addition, you will support volunteer teams by setting up vehicles and tasks for their completion.
This temporary full time position is set to last to the end of 2026 with potential for renewal. The salary range for this position is around $ $26 per hour, depending on experience and skill set. Benefits include paid time off accruals and paid time off the week after Christmas.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain shop cleanliness
- Evaluate repairs needed on benevolent, auction, purchase, and giveaway vehicles
- Schedule vehicle repairs for and provide support to volunteer teams
- Participate in staff meetings, staff coverage rotation, and Care Center events
- Tow vehicles as needed

Requirements
Preferred Skills and Experience
Skills/Competencies:
- Automotive and Automotive repair knowledge
- ASE certification is preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
Personal Characteristics:
- Responsible, collaborative team player
- Independent and self-motivated
- Excellent customer focus and customer service skills
- Ability to train & equip mechanic staff and volunteer teams
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years automotive experience
- Automotive trade school or equivalent experience required
