In this vital role, you will implement evidence-based behavioral interventions under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, eating, and toileting to foster independence and improve quality of life
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to reduce challenging behaviors and teach new skills
- Collect and record data meticulously during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Support clients with autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disorders by applying behavior management strategies in various settings
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency in care plans and therapeutic approaches
- Maintain confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and accurately documenting medical records and progress notes
- Engage in ongoing training on professional ethical standards, including the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts, to ensure high-quality service delivery
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and support behavioral health interventions in home or clinical environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management is advantageous
- Experience in special education, teaching, or behavior therapy enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Familiarity with data collection tools, behavior management techniques, and applied behavioral analysis (ABA) methodologies is highly valued
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities demonstrates your commitment to compassionate care and effective communication
