Qualifications
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification (required)
- Valid Principal Licensure issued by the Ohio Department of Education
- Valid Intervention Specialist License (required)
- Demonstrated experience teaching in a resource room setting (required)
- Experience working with a full range of disability areas, including Multiple Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, Autism, and Other Health Impairments
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training required; willingness to become a CPI instructor preferred
- Experience supporting students with Emotional Disturbance (ED) preferred
Specialized Instructional Leadership
- Provide targeted, job-embedded professional development for resource room and co-teaching staff to strengthen instructional practices and behavioral supports
- Model best practices for scaffolding instruction and managing high-needs classroom environments
- Oversee the development and implementation of high-quality, legally compliant IEPs with rigorous and attainable goals
- Serve as a primary consultant to both special education and general education staff on Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavioral interventions
- Lead the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), emphasizing proactive strategies, de-escalation, and restorative practices
- Support the alignment of resource and general education environments to ensure consistency in behavioral expectations and interventions
- Promote a school-wide culture of inclusion, ensuring students with complex behavioral and learning needs are supported through skill-building approaches
- Strengthen collaboration between general education and special education staff to improve access, engagement, and outcomes for all learners
